Medical wellness sits at the boundary between hospitality, wellbeing and regulated healthcare. The label can include physician-led assessments, diagnostics, rehabilitation, aesthetic medicine or other clinical services alongside spa and lifestyle support.
Separate wellness from medical care
Massage, yoga, nutrition education and relaxation are not the same as diagnosis, treatment or regulated procedures. A property should make that distinction clear.
What to verify
- The identity and professional role of the practitioner
- Whether the service is licensed or regulated
- Where the procedure or assessment takes place
- Contraindications, risks and aftercare
- Whether independent medical assessment is appropriate before travel
Be careful with claims
Marketing language around anti-ageing, detoxification, immunity, hormones or disease prevention should not replace evidence-based medical advice.
W.E.T. editorial boundary
W.E.T. can describe and contextualise a medical-wellness offer, but does not diagnose, prescribe, certify medical efficacy or determine individual suitability.
Read our Wellness & Medical Disclaimer before considering a health-sensitive service.
